Up late the other night
Trying to think of something to write
That might tickle your palate
And from you receive a ballot
Instead of leaving me feeling contrite

To often with writers
Their expectations inside is the igniter
In their exuberance to please
They forgot why they write with such ease
To make other peoples days feel brighter
###
So if I might offer a suggestion
An important lesson
With your character you will pay
The words you so gallantly display
Write from your heart in your next writing session
