Everything Matters

EVERYTHING MATTERS

A mother and her son, walk down the street
The son runs and jumps on a bug
A mother smirks, what does it matter
She gives her son a hug

## A bug doesn't matter ##

A husband is at the bar, making advances at a young girl
My wife is at home, what she doesn't know won't hurt her
Just having a little fun in life
One little mistake, in a life that's just a blur

## So what who cares ##

A car salesman talks to a customer
And he tells a little white lie, to sell a car
You got to do what you got to do
There isn't any harm, best deal by far

## They had to by a car somewhere ##

A young boy learns, value in life is based on size
A cavalier husband, takes little care towards his wife's trust
A salesman learns money is more important than honesty
In truth, in life, there is only one must

## Everything matters ##

The Simple Things In Life

THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE

The simple things in life
That most of us don't know we're doing
A bee collecting pollen
While we sit there viewing

One day we take our last breath
And we pass to the other side
Those simple things that were doing
Well we'll have to say goodbye

We don't really know what happens
When that time comes to be
All we know is those simple things
We never more will see

Take this time to think
About the future of your life
Are you in control
Or does life control you, like a wind blown kite

Part of knowing lasting peace
That you feel inside
Is having control of your life
Before you reach the other side

So don't waste a minute
Look at the man in the mirror
And tell him it's time to change his life
To be a man to be revered

Open up your soul
And don't put up a fight
For it is time for you
To let GOD into your life

They Can't Take Away your State Of Mind

THEY CAN'T TAKE YOUR STATE OF MIND

A feeling of appreciation as we wake every day
With the unlimited things that we can do
Places we can go, or what we say
All because of freedom in what ever we choose

But some places in the world that's not the case
They suppress the written word
They control what you say and do
Of which of course is absurd

Lets take this one step further
And this I believe is the truth
It doesn't matter where you live
Or if you take a stand of being aloof

They can take away your freedom
They can tell you how and where to live
They can stop you from reading, or writing, or speaking
Except what they give

But they can't take away your mind or beliefs
Of that I'm sure
Because what is deep down in your soul
Well, that always remains pure

They can not destroy your will
Unless you give it away
And for the rest of eternity
In your mind and soul, free will, will be displayed

Never Give Up

NEVER GIVING UP

I was watching an ant caring a leaf
To it's nest somewhere in the ground
Over and under blades of grass
And rocks it would walk around

The ant came to a pile of sticks
A mountain it must of seemed
It made an effort to climb the pile
An unconquerable obstacle it deemed

But the ant continued to make attempts
To finish it's quest
This little insect knew not how to stop
It would only give it's best

In one of it's attempts, it fell and damaged it's leg
But it still made attempts to climb
It knew not fear and would not give up
The ants quest was on it's mind

We humans should learn a lesson hear
In our quest in life
When facing fears or obstacles
To always stay the fight

For if a tiny ant
Can find the courage to fight
Then we humans, with our beliefs and great knowledge
Should be able to conquer life

Souls Across The Universe

SOULS ACROSS THE UNIVERSE

Millions of souls stream through the universe
And surrounds the earth above
They're with us constantly
To rain on earth with love

During our confusion with life
Of what is the right way to live
We have a tendency to loose focus
Of what the good Lord so graciously gives

GOD, gives us a choice
Of which way we want to live
He lets us decide
If we want to take or give

To many times we are concerned, only of us
And not of what less fortunate people have
We take, more than we give
That tendency is very bad

We must adhere to the karma of life
And sow what we first reap
This ancient Godly quest
Is a sin if we do not keep

So when you next receive a gift of love
To help in time of need
Remember this gift must be returned
If you expect to be offered GOD's speed

1 Love For UV

1 LOVE

On May 3rd. of this year
University of Virginia Womens Lacrosse had a loss
And it wasn't to another team
It was a loss of a higher cost

Yeardley Love a player on the team
Lost her life that fateful day
And all of the University's population was sadden
That Yeardley past-away

And it was the womens mission
To win for Yeardley at all cost

Right down to the very end

Retrospect

RETROSPECT

Laying on the ground below
And looking up, without a care
Through the cluster of red maple leaves
With blotches of pale blue sky in the air

You loose yourself in the moment
That GOD has provided just for you
And all those worries of unpaid bills
Simply seem to fade from view

You know this time will not last
For a responsible person has priorities
But your Lord has given you time to rest
Before you return to a life of proper proprieties

For what is life if you can not enjoy
The simple pleasures we sometimes ignore
Till a kindred spirit of the past
Begs us to take the time to implore

At these times of solitude
It is important to reflect
And understand aspects of all of life
The ability to look back in retrospect

Lighter Than Air

LIGHTER THAN AIR

What on earth is lighter than air
A wisp in the breeze
That flutters with flair
With personality that comes with ease

A moment of thought
Is lighter than air
With energy brought
It is offered with care

A thought and air it's agreed
Weigh the same
But need to be freed
From whence they came

Unlike air a thought can be
Complex and stressed and crazy
Those things can be heavy indeed
And leave you feeling hazy

When there are thoughts of the heart
Some thoughts drive you to a levy
And you find from the very start
That bad thoughts make a light heart heavy

The Well

THE WELL

Deep down inside ourselves
There is a well
Filled with our hopes and dreams
And stories our parents would tell
It has a secret compartment
That sometimes we don't see
And inside lies a treasure
An ancient memory key
In times of distress or trouble
We question are ability to cope
If we'll have the answers
Or have lost our ability to hope
But something causes us to remember
That way down deep inside
The well of hopes and dreams
And the key that we hide
The key unlocks the door
Where the ancients live
We learn the answers we need
That the ancients freely give
So we learn a lesson
Deep within the great romancer
Lies the secret key
To the door with all the answers

Salutations

SALUTATI0NS

This world with all its splendor
In the near future will kneel and surrender
A man of wisdom and a firth in the great sea of knowledge
With a vigor this man lived
And a thirst to give
What he believed and felt through his toiledge

###

Many people live through their lives
And work hard to make great strides
For their love ones, who hold them in great revere
The love ones have taken the position
To carry on the tradition
In their efforts of participating with their peers

###

This man should be proud of what he gave
As he toiled and slaved
To make a difference, even if only to a few
For the few that he touched
They learned much
And pass on his wisdom through what they do

###

With a journey, it has a beginning and an end
But it's important in that time we spend
Discovering what is to be our destination
But over time we see
It always winds up to be
Not the same as our beginning expectation

###

I know this man is quick to prescribe
To all, love life and enjoy the ride
Life is never what you expect, it's more
It's full of joy and grief
And even in times of disbelief
You knew, through its knowledge, life you would always adore

The Curl Of Your Lips

THE CURL OF HER LIPS

Sometimes in choosing words, you get the urge
When describing a particular look
To give some flair and put on the air
The curl of the lip is the hook

With a picture of you it's easy to view
The subtle hint of the character you show
Children often display in an innocent way
Their hopes that they would like you to know

Children like to give you the notion, that you put in motion
What you want and they secretly hoped
So you accomplish your feat, in which the child dupe you in belief
Just who is the child and who is the adult, in this poem I wrote

Manic

“MANIC”

Are you beyond happiness and sorrow?
Is your life, your day a series of peaks and borrows.
One minute you’re ecstatic, on top of the world.
Next minute you’re depress, into a little ball you curl.

If you are up and down, even a little, you probably feel nothings wrong.
The swings between such extremes have been with you so long.
But you don’t need the ups and downs, to make you feel alive.
Until you’re able to control your emotions, know answer can be derived.

In fact the ups you call happiness are not happiness in any way.
But a false interpretation of happiness, this sense of happiness you display.
Real happiness is not the result of rising out of depression.
Real happiness is stable, constant, and not dependent on interpretation.

Sometimes we call it contentment or serenity or joy.
Not excitement, that leads to depression, happiness just is, a child with a toy.
It’s hard to imagine contentment after a life of highs and lows.
Some people choose not to change and live with their woes.

This is called addiction, a choice of just existence.
To live life instinctively to the path of least resistance.
The ups are dependent on the downs and of course that’s visa-versa.
For real happiness don’t self-indulge, be compassionate, have purpose.

Read Me

READ ME

Up late the other night
Trying to think of something to write
That might tickle your palate
And from you receive a ballot
Instead of leaving me feeling contrite

###

To often with writers
Their expectations inside is the igniter
In their exuberance to please
They forgot why they write with such ease
To make other peoples days feel brighter

###

So if I might offer a suggestion
An important lesson
With your character you will pay
The words you so gallantly display
Write from your heart in your next writing session

The Wedding Ring

THE WEDDING RING

It's been two years since the death of her husband
And it has been hard to get along
Financially she has been struggling
Everything is going wrong

She has had to sell a lot of her keepsakes
To help pay her bills
There's great sorrow in selling things you love
It has taken a great deal of her will

But her greatest test had not yet come
And she was going to have to make a decision
Her financial woes carried on
Her next step required spiritual vision

She was going to sell her wedding and engagement rings
Because she still had to pay some bills
But when she got to the pawn shop
She started to get exstreamly ill

The pawn shop owner said he'd give a lot of cash
But his vision of what the rings meant was sightless
When the young wife came to her decision
She decided the spirit of she and her husband's vows were to priceless

She knew she could struggle along
Until things started turning around
But as far as those rings were concerned
That was touching sacred ground

A Pink Rose In Bloom

A PINK ROSE IN BLOOM

She was like a pink rose in bloom
As she drifted into the room
She was totally unaware
Of my alluring stare
A glass of Chardonnay, she quickly consumed

I walked over and offered my name
Unassuming, I thought she do the same
She was quick to decline
Said I was wasting my time
And she turned and left the way she came

Well, she left me in scorn
And feeling a little forlorn
My dad would say, if you meddle
Sniff a rose's pedals
She always reminds you she has thorns

She's There Then She's Gone

SHE'S GONE

One minute she's there
Next minute she's gone
How could a day that started so right
Have ended so terribly wrong
Married twenty years
My friend, my wife, my love
Now when I talk to her
I will have to kneel and look above
Life is so delicate
So precious being who you were
When the stress of life is over
All that's left is remembering her
Somehow that should be enough
But it never is
I want her back
If only to have one more kiss
So I go to bed
Sleep to morning and rise
I get up and walk aimlessly
Till I meet my demise
Once I was king I had it all
I had a queen I loved
Then in a second it happen
Now she looks down from above
My story is just one of thousands
That travel the highways we drive
The difference is that for a moment
Their wife is still alive

Fly Away Home

FLY AWAY HOME

A Canadian girl Amy one night on the prowl
Found some eggs of wild geese fowl
Amy took the eggs home to hatch
In the morning Amy inspected her catch
The geese hatched and thought Amy was their mother, who knew

###

So Amy raised her brood
She found each goose had their own separate mood
The geese followed Amy everywhere
Threw the barn, through meadows, even on the porch chair
What was Amy going to do

###

Amy knew the geese had to fly south in the fall
There had to be someone Amy could call
So she called a wild game refuge in southern USA
And here is what they had to say
They're glad to have the geese as their southern refuge

###

Now, There was just a couple of other things
How were they going to fly home in the spring
And if we were going to discuss the travel after all
How were the geese coming south in the fall
But Amy had an idea or two

###

Amy's father made Ultralight airplanes from scratch
Maybe he could make one for Amy and her catch
Then when the geese flew south in the fall
Amy could show them the way after all
She found her quest to take care of her brood

###

Amy and the geese set off on their fight
Flew across Lake Ontario and into the night
She landed at sun-set and with pen and paper made that recording
Got some sleep and set out in the morning
Amy thought, there won't be any problems, she just knew

###

She flew across New York State, past New York City, to the coast
Straight down to North Carolina Wild Life Refuge her host
The geese made the trip with out any serious situations
Amy thought the wild life refuge had a wonderful reputation
She was proud of her brood they all came through

###

Amy worried, coming back would the geese blunder
All through the winter she wondered
But in April as a flock they all flew
From the North Carolina Wild Life Refuge
Right to Amy back porch which they all knew

What Are You Thinking In There

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING IN THERE
(The Dog Is Man's Best Friend)

There you sit with that stoic stare
What are you thinking in there
Is it simply, how can I please
Or are you thinking, know more of me
Every day you're at my beck and call
Ready to give your all
Is what you want a simple plea
To change both our thoughts to we

###

Together we will have more fun
Running and playing in the sun
And in a world that's complicated
Two different species feel liberated
Living life not worrying about knowing their place
Or show social expectancy to save face
Because we are quick to discover
We in truth love each other

LITTLE EYES ARE WATCHING
( The Cat's Meow)

Do you know I'm watching you in everything you do
That everytime you make a move, I follow you
You are my world, you are my life, your everything
When I jump into your lap, I hope your heart will sing

When you look at me we don't speak, but deep inside I know
I sense the feeling of love, in your eyes I see the glow
We two have a special bond, our lives thrive because of the other
Sitting for hours with loving glances and no sounds ever uttered

Climbing Jacobs Ladder

CLIMBING JACOB'S LADDER

When your young you don't think of death as part of life.
You know death's there down a windy road far out of sight.
You're to busy, things to do and important people to know.
Living the good life is tough, but you must keep up the show.

When your young, you're so unsure, you don't know what to do.
But life is complicated and stressful and all that stress is on you.
You start to think, life's not working, there's got to be a better way.
So you make adjustments and you start to have better days.

And then I started thinking about something my father read.
An ancient fable of Jacob's Ladder and here's what my father said.
Jesus told Jacob about a ladder to heaven on angel wings.
The ladder was lit by the brilliance of GOD's love while angel's sing.

As I thought further, Jacob's Ladder starts at the beginning of life.
The bottom of the ladder is dark and you climb into the light.
The light is really knowledge and it gets brighter as you age.
Jacob's Ladder and the light turns brilliant as life turns a page.

So we continue to live our lives and do the best that we can do.
To try and always do the right thing in life and to believe in you.
Some people that read this poem might say it doesn't matter.
In truth it matters, all through life you're Climbing Jacob's Ladder.

Our Life In Mankind

OUR LIFE IN MANKIND

Man's success is working in numbers
Through achievements and blunders
Man tries to achieve
What he truly believes
And puts doubters asunder
Man can be selfish
Wanting to keep
Some sow and others don't reap

###

Man strives for his constant perfection
Guards against rebel insurrection
To temper his greed
And continue to lead
With strait forward direction
Constant believer in dreams
With conviction through screams
With freedom his biggest spiritual connection

###

Man continues his dominance on earth
Adapts through changes in re-birth
As man changes nature
Through his errant behavior
Trouble is it's worth
Keep this in your mind
Lately changes have been adverse
Damnation is just a matter of time

The Birds Of Joy And Sorrow

THE BIRDS OF JOY AND SORROW

The feelings of joy and sorrow
Resonates through my soul
The taste of love together
That are gone from me forever
So I sing with the birds of joy and sorrow
Sing of hope for my tomorrows
To hopefully find again what I once knew
To fill my body through and through
This is my quest my sole ambition
Again to find love is my mission
Until I find love I continue to borrow
The songs from The Birds Of Joy and Sorrow

A Man and A Woman

“ A MAN AND A WOMAN “

A man and a woman have different wants and needs.
Of deep primal feelings and ones society breeds.
It is unreasonable to think that a life long friendship
could be derived. With out sex or marriage between them,
as a part of their lives. But such a friendship exist and
has for years. A friendship of admiration, secret
dreams and tears. The friendship that will last a lifetime
to out live their peers. So lives the friendship of Tim and Lynn
that all shall revere.

Ghost Of The Abyss

“ GHOST OF THE ABYSS “

Deep in the dark and blue
Stealthy shadows slither through
Monsters most never see
What you don’t see won’t hurt you
To a child a parent’s labored virtue
Is now known to be false
Because down in the deep of deeps
A ghostly creature floats and seeks
To leave prey without a pulse
The behemoth in question
To my recollection
Only once has ever been seen
The ghostly giant squid
Savagely puts in its bid
Architeuthis greatest legend of the sea
So the journey continues in the abyss
With more questions than answers to list
Ghost of the dark and blue

The Ability To Have Gratitude

ABILITY TO HAVE GRATITUDE

Wake up to life; turn your life into enough and more.
Take your chaotic mind, give it order, leave it free to explore.
Confusion becomes clarity, denial leaves, now truths your own.
A stranger becomes a best friend, where you live becomes a home.

It turns a simple meal into feast.
Suddenly your pass makes sense, it gives you peace.
It gives peace to your soul for today.
Gives you vision for tomorrow, so you will see the way.

Your appreciative soul takes advantage of every moment.
Makes opportunities to right wrongs for atonement.
It spreads kindness in other people’s thoughts.
Over looks mistakes of others, the way God has taught.

Gratitude inspires confidence and shows you too can be admired.
It instills self-awareness and others notice your desire.
Gratitude compliments people, that’s essential.
So that everyone has a chance to reach their potential.

He Walks Amoung Us

HE WALKS AMOUNG US
(with evil on his mind)

He walks among us, without us being aware.
Of the unimaginable atrocities that he dares.
Spawned by greed and self worth, that is shown.
He takes from others, believes everything is his own.

As a child he was neglected, derived he had no worth.
Fought for his survival all the way from birth.
His mother conceived him on one of her drunken nights.
His father raped his mother, then fled out of sight.

We want to hate him he has no purpose in our world.
But he deserves our pity when his story in unfurled.
This tragedy didn't have to happen and it's plain to see.
That this poor anomaly could have been you or me.
